Indigo Slate

Even though I was only at Indigo Slate for a quick cup of coffee, I was working on things that would serve me well in future pursuits. I got to concept and storyboard for demo reels, design and illustrate assets and work closely with motion geniuses that sparked my interest in making things that move. The stuff I helped make at Indigo Slated dealt with Microsoft products, so it was imperative to learn everything I could about their platforms. Not only did I need to make assets highlighting the benefits of those platforms, I had to present my ideas to the Microsoft people that made them, and consequently, were waaaaay smarter than me.

Sharepoint Launch

What if Wes Anderson made a demo reel for Microsoft highlighting the 2016 Sharepoint launch? That was the springboard for the concept behind this project. It also helped that we started bouncing ideas around on Happy Hour Friday in the office. I went to work collaborating with the film crew, creating a storyboard of scenes that everyone was onboard with. Got the final footage back, created graphics and icons supporting the new features of Sharepoint mentioned during the demo reel. I also worked closely with a fine group of motion designers on timing and pace, then made one last presentation to Microsoft engineers involved in making the updates to the Sharepoint launch. I think Wes would’ve been proud.

Character Explorations

While waiting for the motion team to make things move or hearing back from Microsoft folks on concepts we presented, I had the opportunity to explore character styles and scenes. I wish I had more time to go further into the development of characters, metaphors and icons, but it was neat planting the seeds of possibilities.
