Performing my services at Corbis meant being an Illustration Specialists who curated almost 1 million images per year for royalty-free stock libraries. I worked closely with collaborators, worked on acquiring outside collections and had the chance to interact with some of my all-time illustrator heroes in the process. I also had the chance to design and illustrate pieces for emails and online banners promoting handpicked collections and discounts to Corbis customers. Living in the stock image world was weird and wonderful all at the same time.

Digital Banners and Promo Pieces

When I wasn’t curating illustration submissions, applying metadata and attaching keywords to approved images, I was creating digital designs promoting albums and collections in the Corbis library which could be centered around anything from seasons to product partnerships. Conveniently, I had millions of images to work with. I provided the concepts, compositions and hand-lettering to the images that I thought matched the mood and purpose of each promo.

Veer Website Assets

Veer was a microstock service which was part of the Corbis enterprise. It provided stock images and graphics under a credit-based system at affordable prices. It also had online community features. Before it was swallowed up by it’s parent company, I had the opportunity to create illustrations for it’s new website.
