Whole Foods

Providing in-store collateral, signage, window art and chalkboards for the PNW region for Whole Foods afforded me the opportunity to learn what branding means, how to collaborate with people who have diverse needs but one common goal, and how to spell quinoa correctly. I juggled many different gluten-free balls during my time at WF and I loved all those things that I learned to do which I never thought I could do.

Whole Foods

Providing in-store collateral, signage, window art and chalkboards in the PNW region for Whole Foods Market stores afforded me the opportunity to learn what branding means, how to collaborate with people who have diverse needs but one common goal, and how to spell “quinoa” correctly. I juggled many different gluten-free balls during my time at WF and I loved all those things that I learned to do which I never thought I could do.

In-Store Signage

I was able to help create collateral placed in stores that promoted everything from giant seasonal promotions to small counter signs informing guests about the benefits of eating grass-fed, free-range chicken. I also versioned out bigger promotions found in-store to smaller pieces that lived online.

Signature Signs

On rare occasions, for special needs that individual stores wanted, I was able to create other collateral that had more of a personal touch. The Bellevue store in Washington state wanted to make giant banners introducing customers to the newly added liquor and spirits department to their store. Naturally, I was drunk with excitement.

Chalkboards

Before taking my position at Whole Foods, never had I picked up a piece of chalk, other than to attempt to solve a math equation in front of my 5th grade class which my teacher presented as a prop to spotlight my woeful math skills. I had no time to reflect on my non-experience as a chalkboard artist, nor to wrestle with the emotional scars left by my teacher. I jumped in the deep end and learned how to tread the chalk dust that I learned to love so much.
